Just to say, your workshop with the students has achieved a ‘legendary’ status
— Monmouth Girls School
As a celebration of the launch of our activity in London, Bristol and beyond Fairground are offering free workshops to anyone who doesn’t know of our work yet.
We have a specific focus on schools, colleges, universities and drama schools for this activity. However if you don’t fit into any of these categories please do get in touch and we will see what we can do.
There are 3 different ways we are offering our workshops for free.
- Free | Cost of travel expenses only.
- Free & Exchange | Cost of travel expenses only, and maybe you would like to exchange something for the workshop, maybe free rehearsal space in your school, or opportunity to use digital equipment such as video cameras etc.
- Free & Future | Cost of travel expenses only, but maybe you want to book us for a few sessions with no cost for the first workshop.
The only thing we ask in return is that you provide a large clean safe space for the workshop to happen in, enthusiastic students and staff and finally your feedback on how much you enjoyed the session (hopefully) on our website, in an email, through twitter or on our Facebook Page.
We also offer these workshops to staff as teacher training sessions, which focus on developing a teachers own skills in leading this type of theatre work.
The workshops are usually a minimum of 2 hours, but if you want more we are also happy to spend the day with you and deliver a 2 hour session in the morning and a 2 hour session in the afternoon. (it would be nice if you could feed us on a full day session)
The workshops are delivered directly by Fairground’s Artistic Director Tid, often with an assistant from the Fairground team.
We have a range of expertise including
Choreography in Theatre
However if this isn’t what you are looking for, get in touch and we will see if we can help.
All of Fairground’s workshops focus on utilising the 3 basic human tools we have for creating and performing any kind of theatre; The Body, The Voice and The Imagination.
Fairground have devised a number of unique, exciting and challenging workshops, drawing on Tid’s diverse training and theatrical experience.
All workshops will be delivered at a level that suits your group or key stage.
The style of all our workshops is fun, playful and challenging. We want every participant to get the most out of the time we spend with them and we try to encourage genuine discovery, development of new skills, and a growth in confidence.
The Free Workshops offer is for a limited time only, and we would love to hear from anyone who attended The Guardian Innovation in Education Conference 2011
